Seasons 1-8 are when shippers place bids on two of the shipments listed on the uShip website. It is an auction reverse style. Bids contain comments about the likely risks and costs as well as the motives, and abilities. When the deadline for an auction expires it is generally given to the bidder with the lowest price however, at the discretion of the buyer however, it can be awarded to a higher bidder who has a higher average feedback rating from previous customers. To break any ties feedback ratings are applied. Season 9 shippers are able to receive their loads through an agent for shipping. They do not see the bidding process. Instead, the winners load the cargo and attempt and deliver it intact before the deadline of the client or receiver. After the load is delivered, customers leave feedback ratings. In the final episode, the total revenue of each shipper is calculated on-screen, with the costs (fuel, labor, late-delivery penalties, fines, etc.) In order to determine the profit or loss the amount of bids is subtracted. Sometimes, a shipper may decide to transport additional loads on the same journey. The money is added to their total. In some instances it is possible that the shipper is incapable of completing a task due to concerns about the weight of the load or the road safety. One shipper might employ another person to assist in a job. After the task is done and the shippers have decided how to split the proceeds. The advancement of each shipment is interrupted by humorous criticisms from other shippers during seasons 1-8.
