Amy Smart has been a model, actress and former American. Her modeling career started in Italy, where she was raised before being was born in California. Her first role as an actor was in 1996's TV movie Her Costly Affair. After a very difficult struggle to get a part, she was offered a role as "Starship Troopers" her role in Starship Troopers. Amy struggled to make the switch from modeling to acting because models aren't usually thought of as good actors. Models are often only given minor or unimportant roles. Amy was determined to succeed and eventually she was offered bigger parts beginning at The 70s, the movie Varsity Blues. The romantic comedy Just Friends, which also included Ryan Reynolds, saw her perform some more notable parts. Amy gained recognition after more than 10 years of working. She went on doing some major films such as the Crank series opposite Jason Statham and the series Shameless in which she portrayed a well loved recurring character.
