Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She was the founder of The Huffington Post and the chief executive officer of Thrive Global. Author of over 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, writer, journalist, TV host and the owner of The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece she was able to move to England at the age of 16 and was able to graduate from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The first ever foreign-born student to be elected president in the famous debating group The Cambridge Union, at 21, she was able to take over the presidency. When she graduated, she made her mark as a conservative syndicated columnist as well as with the introduction of The Huffington Post' few years later, she launched a voice-based website that provided critical views regarding the state of affairs. Her fame helped to attract several famous contributors who shared their opinions on the news political, culture and politics. Arianna gained fame when she made the decision to stand as an independent candidate during the California recall vote to succeed the then governor Davis. She was also involved in a Detroit-based project that promoted cars that are fuel efficient. Forbes listed her as one of the "most important female" in media and ranked her 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of 100 top media personalities in 2009. In 2011 AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post and made her president of that media company, which also included a number of then-existing AOL products, such as Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli was the daughter of Konstantinos, a Journalism and management expert. While she was close to her father, her connection with her mother shaped the course of her entire life. Even during her formative years, she exhibited leadership skills for which she is still well-known. When she was 16years old, she emigrated from America to United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. She enrolled in the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college and was the third female to be elected the president. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of Master's in Economics. Following her degree, she was a columnist-critic as well as a TV host. Also, with Bernard Levin she appeared on an edition of Face the music.
