Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton escaped the struggles that shaped her life at an early age through her imaginative and creative imagination. Prior to learning how to write and read Dolly Parton was composing her own songs. After 8 years of age, she got her first guitar. At age 11 she started singing at the Knoxville Tennessee radio station. The same year, she recorded her first album with Gold Band Records an independent small label. In high school she was able to establish herself within the community, but her goals were bigger. After graduating high school in 1964 she immediately moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were her two first charting albums from Monument Records. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated television show host in the late '60s, was looking for a girl to sing for his show. Parton became a member of Grand Ole Opry 1969 after signing to RCA Records. But she resigned from the show in 1974 when her solo releases such as Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene were charting collaborations with them. Parton recorded "I Will Always Love You" in support of Wagoner soon after their split. The song was ranked the top spot at No. Its first appearance at No. 1 was 1974.
